New Jersey Citizen Action Holds Free Workshop on Predatory Lending
Tuesday August 8, 2006 at 6 PM in Irvington NJ
Newark, NJ — New Jersey Citizen Action (NJCA) is presenting a free educational workshop on predatory lending at the Irvington Public Library.
Bonita Holmes, Director of Loan Counseling at New Jersey Citizen Action, urged Essex homeowners and prospective borrowers to attend this meeting to learn if they might be a victim of a fraudulent or predatory loan scheme. Holmes stated, "Many consumers have no idea of the many abuses that could be found in their own mortgage documents or re-finance offer and few know any of the fair lending laws that protect them."
Mayor Wayne Smith of Irvington will welcome speakers and consumers.
Attorneys and counselors will be at the workshop to answer questions.
