This Memorial Day Forget-Me-Not
Activists and Organizations Unite to End the War and Support Our Families
Highland Park, NJ — On Thursday, May 22, 2008, New Jersey Citizen Action, Coalition for Peace Action, Pax Christi–Summit, Military Families Speak Out, and the Sierra Club will hold six simultaneous events to honor American soldiers who have lost their lives in the War and to call on Congress to end the War in Iraq.
Organizations will be in five locations across the state — Summit, Westfield, Mt. Holly, Wayside and Princeton — to distribute forget-me-not seeds asking people to plant a seed in honor of our soldiers, encouraging them not to forget the American soldiers and Iraqi people who have lost their lives in the War or the people here who are suffering due to budget cuts impacting health care, education, and preservation.
Groups will also hold a Trenton press conference at the State House where activists and military families will call on Congress to end the War in Iraq and invest in America's future.
