HOW DO I KNOW IF I AM REGISTERED? WHAT IF I HAVE PROBLEMS?
Voters who did not get a sample ballot, but believed they were registered should call their County Board of Elections to confirm their registration. Most importantly, they should still go to vote on Election Day. They have the right to cast a provisional ballot and/or get a hearing in front of a judge. Legal assistance will be available through the Election Protection program on Election Day voters can call 866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683) if they have a problem.
It is a good idea for new voters to bring their sample ballot with them to the polling place, as well as a picture ID. Even though most of the voters we registered will not need to show ID to vote, it cannot hurt for them to HAVE it with them. Copies of the NJ Voter Empowerment Card, which lists voting rights, is available at .
WHAT IF MY POLLING PLACE IS NOT ACCESSIBLE?
Voters can file a polling place report with the NJ Developmental Disability Council to document accessibility problems. The report can be accessed on-line at
Also, NJ's Office of Protection and Advocacy is staffing a hotline that can help voters with disabilities. The number is 1-800-922-7233. Folks experiencing problems can call this hotline to get immediate assistance.
