NEWARK: In the wake of the 2024 election results, Dena Mottola Jaborska, Executive Director of New Jersey Citizen Action (NJCA), today issued the following statement:
“While we acknowledge the victory of Donald Trump in the presidential race, our mission to fight for economic security, racial justice, healthcare access, and civil rights will not waiver.
Today, we are reminded that the fight for equality and justice is ongoing, and while the results may not be what we had hoped for, we are more determined than ever to continue our work. NJCA stands firm in its commitment to continue the work that Kamala Harris and Tim Walz campaign have inspired and the values she fought for — prioritizing working people over billionaires, standing for women’s reproductive rights, and advocating for accessible healthcare for all.
We refuse to let the forces of division and injustice, embodied by the Trump agenda, determine the future of our nation. We will not stand idly by as hate, bigotry, and sexism are normalized. We will not accept an assault on women’s rights, on healthcare, or on the very foundation of our democracy.
This is not the end of the road; it is simply another chapter in our ongoing fight. We will continue to advocate for policies that prioritize the needs of the people, from affordable housing to workers' rights. We will continue to work with our partners, grassroots organizations, and everyday New Jerseyans to ensure that our vision and mission is accomplished.”
