Anti-war Activists Announce New Campaign

A coalition of state leaders, legislators, peace groups, veterans, activists and religious organizations are planning a new statewide campaign to demand that members of the state legislature oppose the escalation of war in Iraq.

They were to announce the launch of the campaign "Americans Against Escalation in Iraq" in New Jersey at a news conference this afternoon at the State House in Trenton. The event is one of thousands being held across the country, according to NJ Citizen Action.

Among those to take part were members of the groups NJ Citizens Against Escalation in Iraq, NJ Citizen Action, Coalition for Peace Action, South Jersey Progressive Democrats,, and Vote Vets.
