HAMAWY OR ALTMAN LIKELY TO JOIN ANALILIA IN WASHINGTON

One candidate is an anti-billionaire surgeon and Army veteran who’s been endorsed by Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, by Ro Khanna of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, and by the Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC). The other candidate is a progressive activist, well known to New Jerseyans who’ve followed her decade-long fight against machine politics and as the former leader of the Working Families Party (WFP) and, more recently, as a top aide to Senator Andy Kim, who has been endorsed by both the WFP and NJ Citizen Action.

And, barring a surprise, one of them is likely to win the June 2 primary in New Jersey’s heavily Democratic twelfth congressional district and be elected to Congress in November.

One is Dr. Adam Hamawy and the other is Sue Altman. They’re both running in a crowded field of candidates in CD-12 to replace the retiring Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman.
