Newark, NJ –Statewide advocacy organization New Jersey Citizen Action’s (NJCA) today congratulated U.S. Senator-elect Andy Kim, and U.S. Representatives Donald Norcross (CD-1), Josh Gottheimer (CD-5), Frank Pallone (CD-6), Robert Menendez Jr. (CD-8), LaMonica McIver (CD-10), Mikie Sherrill (CD-11) and Bonnie Watson Coleman (CD-12), Representatives-elect Herb Conaway (CD-3) and Nellie Pou (CD-9) for their victories in the 2024 general election. NJCA’s Political Action Committee endorsed these candidates because of their commitment to advancing racial, social, and economic justice policies that will lead to a more equitable New Jersey and America.
“New Jersey voters elected the candidates who fight to improve the lives of working families, people of color, the LGBTQIA+ community and our nation’s most vulnerable populations,” said NJCA Executive Director Dena Mottola Jaborska. “By doing so in this historic election cycle they rejected MAGA forces who seek to divide our nation through hate, encourage bigotry against immigrants and other vulnerable communities, wage war against women’s health and reproductive rights, and threaten the very foundations of our democracy.
“These lawmakers will help unify our country and work towards an America where everyone has the chance to thrive and prosper. We congratulate them and look forward to working closely with them on priorities such as quality affordable healthcare, a care economy, affordable housing, reinvesting in underserved communities, and many other policies that will help improve the lives of everyday New Jerseyans.”
Mottola Jaborska also praised Sue Altman and Andy Kim for helping to galvanize New Jersey’s flourishing grassroots democracy movement. “Sue Altman has fought tirelessly against government and political corruption and incompetence,” she said. “As a Congressman, Andy Kim has set a standard for integrity, accountability, and engagement with constituents that every elected official should aspire to, and he successfully challenged the county line. Both have consistently prioritized the interests of the average New Jerseyan over big corporations, the wealthy, and the politically connected. We look forward to working with Kim toward strengthening our democracy in his new role.”
