Newark, NJ -- Statewide advocacy organization New Jersey Citizen Action’s (NJCA) today praised and applauded Sue Altman’s campaign for New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District. Altman was unable to unseat Republican incumbent Congressman Tom Kean, Jr., but her campaign helped highlight many issues critical to millions of New Jerseyans, while further strengthening the Garden State’s flourishing grassroots democracy movement.
“We applaud Sue Altman for championing a care economy, reproductive and women’s rights, the environment, and the fight against corruption and incompetence at every level in government and politics in her superb campaign,” said NJCA Executive Director Dena Mottola Jaborska. “Above all, Sue demonstrated how a Congressional Representative should listen to, and engage with, their constituents. We pledge to build on the work of her campaign, to continue to mobilize New Jerseyans to strengthen our democracy, and help forge a New Jersey that works for everyone, not just the wealthy and the politically connected.
“We urge Tom Kean, Jr. to disavow the extreme right-wing policies of his party, reach across the aisle, and work with us and his constituents to build a better New Jersey.”
