Urge NJ leaders to make patient safety a priority & pass the NJ Safe Staffing bill!
This week as we celebrated Labor Day, nurses at RWJ Barnabas in New Brunswick were walking the picket line. They are fighting for fairer work conditions and safer staffing levels for themselves and their patients.
We stand in solidarity with the these nurses and our allies at HPAE who for nearly two decades have been fighting to pass a Safe Staffing bill (S-304 / A-4536). This legislation would require hospitals to mandate how many patients a nurse can care for on each unit. Patients who require more medical attention should have the assurance that their nurse is not caring for too many other patients. Every patient deserves such care so they can experience a better medical outcome.
Send a message to Governor Murphy, NJ Senate President Nick Scutari and Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin today. Urge them to intervene to get RWJF nurses back to work and make patient safety a priority by passing the NJ Safe Staffing bill now.
